The New Year has begun!

Does anyone else remember that song “Back to school, back to reality”? And if there are any out there like me, all you really looked forward to was meeting up with friends and telling them all about the cool holiday you had -even if you have to invent a few stories so you don’t look uncool! The new stationary was a plus as well, until a few pages into the new writing book and you suddenly don’t feel like this homework anymore! I digress.

Being a student often times means good health is not a top-of-the-list priority – class attendance, assignments, tests, exams, having a social life- take centre stage. Funds are limited and there is little to no time to look after numero uno.

The Prodigal Surrogate Son

Sam Ndungula, a NUST Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics graduate is a seasoned poet who has graced Windhoek’s Spoken Word stage several times. He performs under the moniker, Delusional Sam, which, he says, is like his alter ego. It is a name given to him by friends who say his performance persona is a stark contrast to his real personality.
